Golden (C-S-R) Sewers – update on construction

Still working to get the bodice fitting right. I’m getting pretty close. (I look haggard! Oh well.)

Bodice and chemise fitting
Once this is stiffened, it should fit well.
The neckline needs to be cut down a bit still.

The neckline of the chemise has gotten its detailing. Two mm, black silk, gros grain ribbon was pulled through on a yarn needle. The silk has been washed and pre-shrunk (as has the linen) and I was very pleased that it is colorfast. Inside of the neck casing has been sewn down by hand. The chemise has a hand rolled hem. The end of the ribbon were tacked on the inside of the casing with white thread so they would not pull through.
