day eight: false starts

Mar 6

Me: inserts gusset correctly the first time

Me: goes to join sleeve seam… WHY AREN’T THE CUFF EDGES EVEN???

Also me: The top edge isn’t even. BRO, DO YOU EVEN PULL THREADS?

I pulled threads.

Honestly, it wasn’t even off by that much, maybe a scant 1/4”, but it was enough to annoy me, so I fixed it.

It was going so well, too…

So stacking a whole bunch of stitches on your needle and then realizing that the thread has come out of the eye as you pull it through… is that the handsewing equivalent of running out of bobbin thread and realizing it at the end of a very long seam?

Asking for a friend.

Dear Self,

If you could remember to taper the sleeves before you sew the entire length…

i hear this guy in my head every single time I have the urge to utter the words “that’d be great.”

WOOHOO!!

Sleeves are done, seams are felled, they’re sewn to the body. Next up, prep the gores and put those in, and then finish those seams. Hopefully I’ll be done by Tuesday. Right now I’m going to go visit my mom.

If I don’t get back here, have a good one. Night y’all.

    I feel the pain – I am having a material-cut-out-half-the-bodice-wrong.

Glad you were able to fix things.
