Finally A Garment!!

So I got my chamise done today. I’m so happy to get one of the garments done today.

The gorgeous silver linen folded in half and half again.

So my technique was suggested to me by a friend. It’s a fold method. I folded the fabric in half lengthwise. Then folded again.

The purple line is where I cut.

I then cut the fabric. Once it was done, I sewed a inch seam all around the edges. Then I rolled the seams since linen is notorious for fraying (And I’ve done that mistake only once).

A small sampling of my rolled seams.

I’m glad I finished one piece. I may embellish the collar and sleeves if I have time.

My chamise.

Hi there! How did you determine where to cut to make this pattern/garment? Did you use measurements (and if so, what measurements did you use)? I like that you finished the seams!

I made it like I would a basic t-tunic. I folded it in half lengthwise then again with wise. I layed down on the middle fold and roughly got where I needed the arm pit area to be. I had extra fabric that if I needed to I could add gore’s or a gusset in the arm area.

    Hope that helps.

    Hope that helps.
