I like linen – hand sewing not so much

This is not the WOW update I had wanted to do. Why you ask? Well that’s because I decide to do things that I hate. Which means that I’ve been hand sewing the linen shirt because apparently I have a knack for making things much more harder than they need to be.

So progress has not been amazing but I have proven to myself that I can in fact hand sew seams and it’s not the worst thing ever. It’s close though. I expect the shirt will be done tonight (TBR: sleep is overrated) and then I’m moving onto the embroidery for the doublet. Here’s some pictures of my hand sewn seams and my favorite wine glass.

It’s not as neat as I’d like but overall I am happy that I made myself hand sew. Part of why I wanted to do this competition was to challenge myself and I’m succeeding in that goal. Stay tuned dear readers! I promise the next post will be more exciting.

I am just catching up with all the contestants. I am impressed with your progress!
Clever Hat jewels. Nice construction notes. I am so happy to hear that your fitting went well.
Your hand sewing looks very fine. And it really does make getting gussets, etc, into place. You are on the right track!

The hand sewing looks wonderful, and linen is a cloth in which it pays to properly finish the seams. Keep up the great work!
