Greetings, I am Mistress Ciara McRobbie, a 12C Norman noblewoman of the court of William I and Ermengarde de Beaumont.. The inspiration for my entry comes from the sculptures of the west portal of the Chartres Cathedral also known as the Royal Portal. The outfit will consist of a chemise, an underdress, a bliaut, stockings and garters, shoes, a veil, a belt, a circlet, and possibly jewelry and a cloak, with all materials having been pulled from my many stashes of “stuff”. The research for the individual pieces will be covered as I make them. I’m looking forward to this, I have been dreaming of making this outfit for years!

My pile of supplies for this project

Good luck everyone and lets have some fun!

Oh… I always wanted a bliaut, too! Following with much interest!

Hi–from one of your judges! That’s some serious scope! Looking forward to some bliaut fun. Everyone approaches them a little differently–so seeing your take should be neat. If you have any questions, feel free to ask–I’ve made two silk bliauts and one in wool.

Hello, Ciara! I’m Ibrahim, one of your judges. I’m looking forward to seeing what you put together.

    Hi Ciara,
You know me. It is Dulcinea (your daughter). I will be one of your judges. I am really looking forward to seeing how this goes!

Daughter, how are you! I am having more fun and more frustration with this than I expected, but after countless years , at least I’ve started it. I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out too!😁
